I gather that Ms Moran is 'coming back to work' later this month. I look forward to seeing Ms Moran walking the streets of Luton again, and meeting her constituents face to face - and I suspect they will make their opinions of her very clear. Maybe she will then begin to understand the degree to which her expenses shenanigans have disappointed and angered the people of Luton South - and indeed all of Luton.
It was interesting that in her absence her office said they were "carrying on as normal" when they denied my allegations that Ms Moran and they were dropping the ball on casework. I suspect they meant that her presence didn't make much of a difference for the last 12 years anyway, and it didn't really matter whether she was in the office or not.
But one interesting question remains to be answered: who will be filling Ms Moran's shoes at the next election as the official Labour Party Candidate? Ms Moran announced her intention to stand down in MAY and it is now OCTOBER and we still don't know.
Perhaps the reason for the long delay has been the fact that anyone local is transparently unsuitable because they will all be tainted by their association with Moran and her expense abuses, yet anyone from outside Luton will be attacked for being parachuted in at the last minute - rather than having any real links with the town.
The local Labour association repeatedly sent out messages backing Ms Moran, telling us that "she has done nothing wrong" and that she had their "full support and confidence" - even as the expense abuses were piling up.
It does not surprise me therefore that Labour are still agonising over their choice of candidate - and calculating how the alternative candidates would be 'positioned' and 'look' against the existing declared candidates. But whomever they choose, that person will still be LABOUR, tainted by Moran, and the smell of a decaying Labour government.
