Last week I visited the Falkland Islands with the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme (AFPS).

Government action on puppy welfare

I welcome the new legislation that has been laid before Parliament today by Environment Secretary Michael Gove. The raft of measures he introduced will crackdown on unscrupulous puppy breeders and protect puppies so they have the best possible start in life.

Worcestershire's new Local Funding Settlement

On Wednesday 7th February, Parliament approved a new funding settlement for English local authorities that well see a real terms increase in funding over the next two years, giving them access to £200 billion from 2015 to 2020.

Migloo event

On Friday 26 January I attended the Migloo event at Wychavon Civic Centre.

The Migloo is a unique set of portable changing suites for people with profound and multiple disabilities, such as cerebral palsy, that makes it difficult for them to use traditional disabled toilets.  

Update on Sky/Fox merger

I was in the Chamber on 23rd January to hear the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Matt Hancock, give an update on the Sky/Fox merger.

Government consultation on Blue Badge changes

The Government has launched a consultation on its proposed changes to Blue Badges. These proposals represent the biggest change in Blue Badge policy since 1970 and could benefit people living with hidden disabilities such as dementia and autism.

Stalking Protection Bill

Conservative MP Sarah Wollaston’s Bill on protections for victims of stalking received its second reading in the House of Commons on Friday 19th January and I was present to voice my support.
