Chancellor delivers Autumn Budget

I was in the House of Commons today to listen to the Chancellor deliver his Autumn Budget. The Chancellor revealed that the deficit as a percentage of GDP is expected to fall by 0.5% to 1.9% next year, due largely to borrowing forecasts falling by £8.4 billion since the Spring Budget.

Government announces grant to boost farm productivity

On Monday 30th October the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs announced that it would be making a £40 million in funding available for the roll-out of the next stage of the Country Productivity Scheme.

Government publishes gambling review

Today the Department for Digital, Culture Media and Sport published the outcome of its gambling review and pledged to reduce the maximum stake that can be made on a Fixed Odds Betting Terminal (FOBT) from £100 to between £50 and £2 in order to protect problem gamblers.
