Government action on puppy welfare

I welcome the new legislation that has been laid before Parliament today by Environment Secretary Michael Gove. The raft of measures he introduced will crackdown on unscrupulous puppy breeders and protect puppies so they have the best possible start in life.

The Government is to take action on puppy smuggling and crack down on puppies being reared in unhealthy circumstances by unscrupulous breeders. The crack down follows a debate I led in parliament on puppy smuggling and puppy welfare last month

New funding for local hospitals

The Worcestershire Acute Hospital NHS Trust heard this week that it will be receiving additional government funding to help local Worcestershire hospitals through the peak Winter period and for capital improvements.
