Civic Service at Worcester Cathedral

On Sunday, I joined Councillor Peter Tomlinson and his wife Alison at their wonderful Civic Service in Worcester Cathedral this afternoon - followed by tea in the historic chapter house. 

It was a real honour to attend and I hope you enjoy the pictures of the beautiful cathedral!

Birmingham Commonwealth Games

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to visit the site of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games Aquatics Centre in Sandwell today alongside DCMS Secretary of State, Oliver Dowden.

Heritage Day at Tower of London

On Wednesday, I gave my first keynote speech as Heritage Minister at the Tower of London.

I was pleased to show my support to the Severn Area Rescue Association crew who were fundraising in Droitwich over the weekend. Thanks for everything you do and especially helping to protect Worcestershire residents in the floods this week.

Worcestershire Parkway Station is open

Last Sunday, February 23rd,  I was glad to be amongst those celebrating the opening of Worcestershire Parkway Station - Worcestershire’s first new railway station for over 100 years.

River levels in Worcestershire have fallen on the Avon but remain high on the Severn and with more rain on the way can rise again quickly.
