I was pleased to visit Tesco Evesham to support this year’s Winter Food Collection, which plays a vital role in helping vulnerable people across our community during the colder months.
During my visit, I met with members of the Tesco team, including Claire, the store’s fantastic Community Champion, as well as Emma Goodge from Caring Hands in the Vale, one of the local organisations benefitting directly from the generosity of shoppers through the collection.
The Winter Food Collection is a national initiative run in partnership with the Trussell Trust and FareShare, two charities that provide essential support to people facing hardship. Donations made in store — whether food, toiletries or household essentials — go directly to local food banks and community groups, ensuring help reaches people right here in Worcestershire.
It was encouraging to hear more about the work Caring Hands in the Vale is doing to support individuals and families who need an extra hand, especially during the winter period when demand for help often increases. Initiatives like the Winter Food Collection are essential in allowing them to continue providing their crucial services.
I want to thank Tesco staff, volunteers and every shopper who has donated so far. Your generosity makes a real difference to people across our community. If you’re able to contribute or volunteer, I encourage you to get involved — every can helps.
