I really enjoyed visiting Broadway library at the weekend where I met with elder members of the community to encourage them to get online. They have been aided by digital champions from Broadway Library, Broadway United Reformed Church and Rooftop Housing Group.
A highlight of the day was meeting 95-year-old Audrey Harrison who loves using her iPad and was eager to learn more; I was extremely impressed!
Rooftop is currently promoting a new group in Bengeworth which helps residents to get online at the Bengeworth social club on Wednesdays. The library staff and volunteers are available to provide guidance and training to anyone needing help and emphasised how important having a set of publicly available computers is to local people who come in to job search, access useful information such as the best energy deals or write stories and poems.
Contact your local library or the Community Investment team at Rooftop on 0800 0421800 for more information on local places to get online for free.
