Since Highways England began its work on the M5 over the summer I have received a lot of correspondence from constituents raising concerns about the congestion and delays they have been suffering. As well as liaising directly with Highways England to relay the comments constituents have raised with me and asking for Highways England to explore ways of mitigating the effects of the works, I have also been calling for more communication with the public about the works that are taking place.
I am pleased that Highways England has taken this on board and have now arranged two drop-in sessions where members of the public can meet representatives from from both the M5 Junction 6 and Oldbury Viaduct project teams and ask any questions they have about the schemes.
The details of the drop-in sessions are as follows:
Thursday 14th December 1pm-8pm
Sixways Stadium, Duckworth Suite, Warriors Way, Worcester, WR3 8ZE
Monday 18th December 1pm- 8pm
Chateau Impney Hotel & Exhibition Centre, Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire, WR9 0BN
Updates on the Oldbury Viaduct scheme are posted on a dedicated Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/M5J1toJ2 and any queries can be sent directly to Highways England at M5Oldbury@highwaysengland.co.uk
