Historic England is launching new funding as part of our Everyday Heritage grants programme that celebrates working class histories. Grants of up to £25,000 are available to fund community-led and people-focused projects that aim to further the nation’s collective understanding of the past.

Launched in 2022, the Everyday Heritage grant programme has funded over 100 brilliant projects to a total of £1.8 million, from the history of roller-skating in Birmingham to rhubarb farming in Leeds. They tell stories of ordinary people and places that aren’t currently included in the history books but have had an extraordinary impact. You can learn more about some of the past projects Historic England has funded here.

Applications open on Friday 16 August and close on Monday 7 October for the 2024 programme.
