Israel - Gaza Peace Deal

Nigel

After two years of hell in the hands of terrorists, I am relieved that today the remaining hostages are being released.

When I visited Israel and the West Bank in August, I met the mother of one of the hostages who is coming home today: Avinatan Or - who was taken at the Nova Music Festival where 378 others were killed. I can only imagine the joy of the reunion today between Avinatan and his family.

But too many will never return alive and my thoughts and prayers are with all of those who have suffered - in Israel and Gaza - as a result of Hamas's evil.

I hope for the sake of all of those who live in the region -  Israelis, Palestinians and others - that the peace process will progress as planned following this vitally important step involving the release of hostages today.
