It was an absolute pleasure to visit Westacre Middle School and meet members of the school's Student Parliament.
I always enjoy speaking with young people about politics, and the students had some excellent questions about my role as a Member of Parliament, how Parliament and Government work, and the responsibilities that come with representing our local area.
I was particularly impressed by their interest in current affairs. They asked some thoughtful and well-informed questions about a range of Government policies, including proposals relating to social media, which made for a really engaging discussion.
Visits like these are always a highlight of my role. It is encouraging to see so many young people taking an active interest in democracy and the issues shaping their future.
Thank you to everyone at Westacre Middle School for making me so welcome. I look forward to visiting again in the future.
