Celebrating St George's Day and also the start of the British Asparagus Festival with a visit to the Japanese Embassy with Gus the Asparagus Man, St George himself and the Fleece's Nigel Smith.
Japan has granted Vale of Evesham Asparagus special protected status — one of 39 UK food and drink products now officially recognised.
 
A proud day for Worcestershire and a symbol of the special friendship between Evesham and Japan.
