I met with farmers in Purshall Green this week as part of ongoing discussions about Labour’s family farm tax. Having already spoken with many farmers in recent months, I have heard time and again how devastating these plans would be for family-run farms.

The tax risks forcing families to sell land that has been cared for over generations, breaking apart a way of life that underpins our countryside, supports local jobs, and keeps food on our tables.

Our farmers work tirelessly in all weathers to feed the nation, and they deserve policies that safeguard their future - not measures that put their livelihoods at risk. I will continue to stand alongside them in opposing this damaging proposal.
