The Government and Homes England have recently launched 8 landmark long-term funding deals with housing associations across the country to deliver 14,280 more affordable homes.
One of the housing associations selected was Matrix Partnership, which will receive a grant of £77 million to deliver 2,257 new affordable homes by March 2022. Evesham's Rooftop Housing comprises part of the Matrix Partnership and will deliver approximately 1,000 of these new homes.
I am delighted that one of our local housing associations will be part of a long-term funding deal with Homes England. This will help people in my constituency get onto the housing ladder and establish a stable home life for themselves and their families. Rooftop do a tremendous amount of work helping people find housing in the local area and I am unsurprised that they and other associations in the Matrix Partnership have been rewarded for their efforts with this sizeable grant.
James Brokenshire has been clear that affordable housing is a top priority for him in his role as Housing Secretary and I am glad that these efforts will see real positive impacts in Worcestershire.
