It was a pleasure to attend Sky’s Women in Sport event in Parliament and celebrate another incredible year for women’s sport, from the Lionesses’ victory at the Women’s Euros to the Red Roses’ Rugby World Cup triumph.
We discussed how industry, government and Parliament can work together to make sports facilities more accessible and to break down barriers that prevent girls and young women from getting involved in sport.
Sky’s research shows that the participation gap between boys and girls now stands at 280 million hours of sport every year. Closing that gap would bring huge social, economic and health benefits across the country.
