In July, I spent an eye-opening afternoon with the West Mercia police as part of the national #GiveADayToPolicing initiative. I joined officers on patrol and met with senior members of the drugs supply line team, who have been making great progress recently in stifling the local trade in illegal drugs. It was an important insight into the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to keep us safe from dangerous crimes.
I would like to thank West Mercia for being such accommodating hosts and spending their important time showing me the work that they do. I would strongly encourage all of my Parliamentary colleagues to take part in the #GiveADayToPolicing initiative, which over 100 MPs have been part of so far.
