On the final day of term, I had the pleasure of visiting Aurora Wilden View School in Hartlebury to meet with staff and pupils and learn more about the important work being done to support children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Wilden View, which opened earlier this year, currently supports 55 pupils aged 5 to 19, many of whom have faced barriers to accessing mainstream education. It was great to see first-hand the nurturing environment the school provides, and to hear about the positive progress pupils are making both academically and personally.
I was particularly impressed by the school’s strong focus on personal development and the clear commitment of the staff to helping each young person succeed.
Thank you to Headteacher Robert McConomy and the team at Aurora Wilden View for the warm welcome and for the important work you do in supporting some of the most vulnerable children in our communities.
