I was pleased to visit Prince Henry’s High School in Evesham this week to see their brand-new 3G Astro pitch ahead of the official opening on Friday 16th May at 12pm.
The new pitch has been made possible thanks to a £750,000 grant from the Premier League, The FA, and the Government’s Football Foundation, along with £300,000 from Wychavon District Council. This £1 million investment is a significant boost to sports facilities in the Vale of Evesham.
It was great to meet with staff and students and hear about the positive impact the pitch will have — not just for the school, but for the wider community. Once open, it will provide a high-quality space for local clubs, grassroots sport, and community groups to enjoy.
I’m looking forward to joining representatives from the Football Foundation, Worcestershire FA, Wychavon District Council, local clubs, and the school community for the grand opening on Friday, and to celebrating this exciting milestone for sport in our area.
