I had a busy day in the constituency on Friday which began with a meeting with Sally and Paul from Evesham and District Mental Health Support Services to discuss plans for the next few years. Next, I went to Barclays in Evesham for its Digisafe event where I heard some great advice on how to avoid online fraud and then I was off to Pebworth First School. I joined the students there as they baked some delicious looking cakes and was shown their wonderful garden before we had a question time session. It was just as challenging as I expected, with questions like “why do we have a Government?” particularly keeping me on my toes. From there, it was back to Evesham for a constituency surgery and then I visited Throckmorton Parish Council.
Having spent Saturday watching the Royal Wedding, on Sunday I went to the Churches Together Pentecost celebration in Evesham. The location beside the River Avon looked even more beautiful than usual in the great weather and I was pleased that the event was so well attended. I also had a chance to pop by The Valley to see the Union Jack umbrellas and bumped into Gus the Asparagus Man there.
