The BBC is one of our most respected national institutions and a truly global brand, trusted by millions to inform, educate and entertain. But with that privilege comes responsibility. 

The BBC’s future and the licence fee depend on meeting its charter obligations, including strict impartiality. 

Recent failures to follow its own editorial standards risk undermining public trust and damaging the BBC’s reputation, with serious consequences for the services audiences value most. 

Protecting the BBC means holding it to the highest standards.
