Games Bill for Birmingham 2022

I'm deeply excited to see the newly reintroduced Games Bill back in Parliament, which confirms Birmingham as the host of the 2022 Commonwealth Games.  This Bill will legislate preparations for Birmingham holding the Commonwealth Games in two and a half years’ time.

Trip to Evesham Vale Growers

On Friday, I had a fascinating trip to the state of the art tomato growing facility at Evesham Vale Growers. 

As you can see from the pictures, the results are really quite amazing!

Visit to Hill & Moor Waste Management Facility

After a busy first week back in Westminster, it was good to be back in the consituency.

First stop was a fascinating visit to the Hill and Moor waste management facility this Friday morning. 

This is a landfill site which is using waste to energy plant ash recycling.

National Living Wage to rise in April

I welcome the news that the Government is immediately taking action to increase National Living Wage.  This increase of 6.2% effectively gives a pay rise to 2.8 million people in the UK.

Teller for final vote in Parliament

Yesterday marked John Bercow's last day as the Speaker and I had the privilege of being the teller and reader (a government whip who counts the number of people who pass through the lobbies during votes) relating to vote on the annual canvass of the electoral roll.
