Worcestershire Parkway has been a fantastic addition to our county.
It has transformed rail links, making it easier for people to travel across the country while helping to drive investment and economic growth alongside major developments such as Worcester Six.
However, the station is becoming a victim of its own success.
With around half a million passengers using Worcestershire Parkway every year, parking is increasingly struggling to keep pace with demand, particularly during the middle of the week. My office regularly hears from commuters who are forced to travel to stations such as Pershore, Evesham or Honeybourne simply to find a parking space, whilst others are left parking on surrounding roads.
I'm writing to the Rail Minister to ask that, alongside funding to improve passenger facilities within the station, Government also supports the expansion of parking capacity. Whether that's through additional parking, a multi-storey car park or other solutions, we need infrastructure that reflects the station's growing popularity and keeps Worcestershire moving.
