Mid Worcestershire

The Mid Worcestershire parliamentary constituency covers part of the Cotswolds, the beautiful Vale of Evesham, Droitwich Spa and many commuter towns and villages near Birmingham. The constituency lies entirely within the Wychavon District Council area, but does not include Inkberrow and Cookhill (Redditch) or the Pershore area (West Worcestershire). The biggest towns in the constituency are Droitwich Spa and Evesham. The constituency is 35 miles long and stretches from Broadway on the border with Gloucestershire in the south to Hartlebury in the north - almost to Kidderminster. It takes an hour to drive from one end of the constituency to the other.

The constituency is predominantly rural. Agriculture, light industry and services (such as retail as well as professional services) are the main private sector employers - and hospitality and leisure is also a major contributor to the local economy, particularly in the south around the popular tourist centres of Broadway and Evesham.

The Conservatives control both Wychavon District Council and Worcestershire County Council.
