Comment on Indicative Votes on 2nd April

I have received a lot of emails from my constituents about the indicative votes that took place in Parliament last night.

The intent of holding the indicative votes was to explore whether or not a consensus could be reached on any of the alternative Brexit options - as the Prime Minister’s deal has not yet passed. But none of the four options that the Speaker chose for us to vote on were passed by a majority of MPs so our route forward remains uncertain. Notably, none of the options received as many votes as the Prime Minister’s deal received in the vote on Friday.

I voted in the same way I did during the first round of indicative votes – I voted against revoking Article 50 and holding a confirmatory referendum but abstained on the two alternative forms of Brexit. To explain my decision, I have prepared this short video.
