Visit to St Barnabas First & Middle School

On Friday 5th April I had an enjoyable visit to St Barnabas First and Middle School. I watched a Year 5 class Collective Worship session and had the pleasure of giving out Headteacher Awards before facing Year 7 students for "St Barnabas Parliamentary Question Time."

Mayor and Mayoress fundraising breakfast buffet

I was delighted to attend the fundraising breakfast buffet on Saturday, hosted by the Mayor and Mayoress of Evesham. For a small contribution, we received all you can eat breakfast and the contributions went to Evesham Shopmobility, Caring Hands in the Vale and Evesham Guides.

The Great British Spring Clean in Evesham

On Saturday, I joined 40 other local residents from the Evesham Anti Litter Group to help with The Great British Spring Clean and was thrilled to hear this was the biggest turn-out they've had with people wanting to get involved to #KeepBritainTidy.

New Delay Repay Scheme for GWR

I welcome the announcement that Great Western Railway will be introducing a Delay Repay scheme for passengers.  This long-awaited improvement to GWR’s compensation scheme is due to launch on 1st April 2019 and means that customers with single, return or weekly tickets will be able to claim compen

Southern Link Road works

I welcome the commencement of the final phase of the scheme to fully dual the A4440 Southern Link Road. This follows an announcement earlier this month that the Government had approved almost £55 million of funding for the project from the Large Local Majors Fund.

Reopening of Ombersley Memorial Hall

Thank you to the chairman of Ombersley parish council and local residents for inviting me to the official opening of the refurbished Main Hall at Ombersley Memorial Hall. 

Droitwich Spa FC

I had a very productive meeting with professional footballer David Stockdale and Wayne Oliver to discuss exciting plans for Droitwich Spa FC and Droitwich sport in general. I look forward to doing whatever I can to help them fulfil their exciting plans for football and sport in the town.

Pancake morning and Civic Service

My weekend started with a very enjoyable visit to the pancake morning at Evesham Baptist Church. The annual event is held as part of Fairtrade Fortnight and we had some productive discussions over chocolate pancakes about how the Fairtrade initiative can be supported. 

Visit to Buzz Electrical & Ellenden Farmshop

I had the pleasure of visiting Buzz Electrical in Evesham on Friday, which was celebrating its 20th anniversary. I particularly enjoyed meeting the team - many of whom had participated in Buzz Electrical's award winning apprenticeship programme.
