Flood warnings

A number of flood alerts and flood warnings are in place across Worcestershire.

River levels are falling in some parts of the county but are still rising in others. 

Opening of Worcestershire Parkway Station

It has been announced that Worcestershire Parkway Station will begin operations from Sunday 23rd February.  This is Worcestershire’s first new railway station for over 100 years.

Improving transport services

I was pleased to hear the recent announcement from the Prime Minister Boris Johnson, for a commitment to transform our transport services nationwide.

Constituency Video Update

Just to give some insight into what an MP's typical Friday in the constituency looks like. I had an early start in Evesham, then to Blackminster Business Park for a meeting with the NFU, then a surgery in Droitwich, followed by a meeting with Parish and District councillors.

School visit to St Barnabas

Thank you to all the staff and students at St Barnabas School in Drakes Broughton for welcoming me on Friday for a school visit.

Meeting NN Cresswell Buses

On Friday, it was lovely to meet Mary and the team at NN Cresswell Buses and Coaches in Evesham to discuss local transport provision and regulation issues.

Meeting with Worcestershire Acute Trust team

I and other Worcestershire MPs - Rachel Maclean, Robin Walker and Mark Garnier - spent yesterday morning with Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Chief Executive Matthew Hopkins and his team discussing the performance of - and future plans for - our local hospitals. It was a very useful meeting.

Increase in number of pubs

I'm thrilled to hear that the number of pubs in the UK has risen for the first time in a decade. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has recently released a report which shows that after a consistent and worrying trend of pub closures, the pub industry seems to be recovering.
